Eastcott VineyardNorthlew, Okehampton.
Eastcott Vineyard lies a few miles north-west of Okehampton and is the only commercial vineyard within West Devon. The grape varieties have been carefully chosen to suit the English climate. The owners aim is to make quality sparkling wines, along with a choice of still wines. The specific blends and styles will vary every year to make the best of each harvest.
All the wines are made on-site with still wines ready for drinking after 6-9 months. Sparkling wines are made using the traditional method (Methode Champenoise), as originally developed by Charles Merrett in 17th century England. These need lengthy maturation and 2 to 3 years before they are ready.
The winery is open to visitors who can enjoy the display of winemaking equipment and see the photo history of the site. It is licensed for off-sales of wine.
We offer guided Vineyard & Winery Tours twice a week at regular times but can offer other times by appointment. Much of the tour is indoors and we think that wine tasting is good fun on a wet day!
There is ample free parking. Please be aware that disabled people may not be able to enjoy the full tour as the vineyard ground is uneven.
See website for opening times, directions, wine and tour prices or call us for enquiries.
